More intuitive workflows and APIs

You may have noticed that a lot of our work recently has been to do with AI, and that is very exciting. However, we’re not neglecting the un-sexy but important work of continuously improving the No Code developer experience in general.

We have just released one of those improvements to do with using some of the more complex aspects of creating full featured applications – workflows and APIs.

You can now create APIs and workflows directly from the development homepage. You’ll be asked a quick question or two to allow the system to create them for you.

You don’t have to know any more that when making an API, you have to create a view, and to create a view you have to start from a table. Just press the ‘+ API’ button, the system will ask you for the relevant data source (table), create the view, enable it as an API and place it in a suitable ‘system’ tile. And to be fair, why should a new developer be expected to know those things?

Furthermore, once the view is created, the list of options is reduced to only those relevant to an API. Text in the API editing panel will add relevant context in various places. The same goes for workflows for different purposes like document generation, record editing or automated emailing.
