Learner Progression BETA

Bath Digital Festival

A quick non-feature update: we’ll be appearing at the Bath Digital Festival on 12th July this year – we hope to see you all there!

Login page

The first thing anyone will notice if they log in via www.agilebase.co.uk is that the login page has been updated. We’ve decided to highlight prominent people in the history of computer science and those who were responsible for key developments in the web and databases, which make Agilebase possible.

The first people represented are (in no particular order) Tim Berners-Lee, Grace Hopper, Alan Turing and Ada Lovelace. We’ll be adding many more in future – please let us know if you’d like to suggest any current or historical figures.

Learner Progression BETA interface

Agilebase’s new Learner Progression programme lets people learn how to build apps with Agilebase, at their own pace.

Learner progression privilege levels are already active – see https://docs.agilebase.co.uk/docs/introduction/learner-progression/

Now, everyone has the ability to see their own level’s help articles, as well as look forward to view help articles for future levels, or review those for past levels.

To take a look, click your user icon at the top right and select ‘edit profile’, then ‘learner progression’.

This is in fact part of a completely new profile screen. In addition to editing your password, security and other preferences, you can

  • see upcoming events (such as the Bath Digital Festival, above)
  • view a new discussion forum
  • access the documentation
  • see service status
  • read about recent updates

Beta Testing

The Learner Progression screen is in beta testing. That means it’s not perfect yet. A lot of help content is present, but a lot more videos and written content is to come – some features don’t have documentation set up yet. You may notice some bugs!

Please do let us know what you think at this early stage, and if you have any particular thoughts on how you’d like it to work. We will certainly accommodate as much as possible.

Forum

Part of our drive to create a community of Agilebase users, covering both real and virtual worlds, is the addition of a community forum.

We’ll soon be inviting all Agilebase developers to sign up. If you’d like to be first, please email support@agilebase.co.uk

The moderated forum will allow everyone to see tips and tricks, get support and generally interact with the community.

For this month’s new features, the login page and learner progression screen, thanks to Gemma from Marriage for her design work and Rebecca from Polychromatic for implementing the front end code.
